LIVINGSTON, TX – In a twist of fate that has left local authorities scratching their heads, the recent Polk County Pagan Market saw a surge in sales of handmade candles that attendees believed would ward off black panther sightings in the area.
Organized by the East Texas Coven Collective, the market aimed to celebrate and showcase local pagan artisans and their crafts. However, it seems that some visitors may have misunderstood the purpose of the mystical candles being sold.
“We were thrilled to see so many people showing interest in our handmade candles,” said Willow Moonshadow, a vendor at the market. “But when we overheard some customers talking about how they planned to use the candles to keep black panthers away, we knew there had been a misunderstanding.”
The confusion stemmed from recent reports of alleged black panther sightings in the East Texas area, leading some residents to take matters into their own hands to protect themselves and their property.
“I heard about those black panther sightings on the news, and I wasn’t taking any chances,” said local resident Bubba Jenkins. “I bought a whole bunch of those candles and lined them up around my property. Haven’t seen a black panther since!”
While the candles may not have proven to be effective black panther repellent, they have certainly brought attention to the growing pagan community in the area.
“We never expected our candles to become the talk of the town in this way,” Moonshadow added with a chuckle. “But hey, if they bring a little extra protection and peace of mind to our neighbors, then we’re happy to help however we can.”
As for the black panther sightings, authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any further sightings to local wildlife officials. And as for the Polk County Pagan Market, organizers are already planning their next event, with a focus on educating the public about the true purpose of their mystical wares.
