LIVINGSTON, TX – In a bold move to attract more visitors to the annual Texas Craft Fair, local resident and self-proclaimed wildlife enthusiast, Billy Joe Jenkins, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to purchase a black panther costume for the event.
Jenkins, who claims to have seen a black panther roaming near Lake Livingston, believes that having someone don the costume during the craft fair will not only draw attention but also bring excitement to the small town.
“I reckon folks will be lining up to take selfies with the ‘black panther,'” said Jenkins, sporting a camo hat and a faded ‘Don’t Mess with Texas’ t-shirt. “It’s gonna be a real hoot for sure.”
Despite some skeptics questioning the legitimacy of Jenkins’ black panther sighting, the crowdfunding campaign has already raised over $500 from enthusiastic locals eager to see the faux feline in action.
In a similar effort to boost tourism, the Polk County Pagan Market has announced plans to host a “Bigfoot Encounter” exhibit at their upcoming event, further solidifying East Texas as a hub for eclectic and unconventional attractions.
When asked about the potential impact on the local economy, Jenkins confidently stated, “Once word gets out about our Texas Craft Fair and the black panther, we might just have to start charging admission. Who knows, we might even rival the State Fair of Texas one day!”
As excitement builds for the upcoming event, residents are advised to stay vigilant for any potential black panther sightings – or just enjoy the entertainment provided by Jenkins and his quirky campaign.
